The Base package is the starting point and foundation of the AutoSD Steel Detailing system. It's needed to run all other packages. The Base package contains over 200 programs to make any detailing job go easier and faster. From setting the sheet to size and scale to detailing anchor bolts, embed angles and plates and anchor setting plans to roof frames and wall sections, you'll find the tools in this package indispensable.

Below is a list of tools included in the Base package.

1. Automatically set paper size and drawing to scale. Setup included for SDS/2, Steelcad, CVSpro and X-Steel compatibility.

2. Custom dimension program dimensions straight lines, arcs, and circles. Uses custom fractions.

3. All dimensions are input in the FT.IISS format where FT = feet, II = inches and SS = sixteenth's thus 20'-3 1/4"= 20.0304. All dimensions using the CVSpro setup are input in the FT-II*SS format where FT- = feet, II = inches and *SS = sixteenth's thus 20'-3 1/4"= 20-3*14.

4. Automatic BEVEL command. Just pick a sloping line and the bevel is calculated and placed on either side of the line. The bevel can be in reference to the horizontal or to another line.

5. Edit commands enable you to replace or change text or dimensions.

6. Set layer, change object's layer, isolate layer and freeze layer by selecting objects.

7. Solve right triangles, oblique triangles, arcs, camber, and loads.

8. Calculators that add, subtract, multiply, divide, square root, raise to exponent and take reciprocal.

9. Draw to different scales in the same drawing.

10. Draw weld symbols using a dialog box interface that allows you to create the entire weld symbol before placing it on your drawing. Each specific symbol may be saved for reuse, revising the previous symbol to create new ones.

11. Custom text fonts and characters give your drawing that professional look.

12. Data base includes shapes for USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Europe. Draw  end view, top view and side view of W, C, S, M, MC, WT, ST, HP, L, PS, TS, HSS, castellated beams, Cee and Zee shapes. Draw end view of crane rails. Draw end and side view of decking. New data base format makes it easy to add new shapes.

13. Erection drawing section marks, north arrow, column grid bubble, beam lines with dimensions and description, joist lines, columns with description.

14. Create sections showing side view or end view of joist, beams, end view of wood, block and brick, beam sitting on bearing plate with anchor bolts.

15. Draw base plate sections and details for anchor bolt plans.

16. Detail anchor bolts, bent or headed.

17. Detail roof frames, bearing plates, embedded angles, pour stops.

18. Detail angles with nailer holes.

19. Detail shop welded or shipped loose pour stop with optional horizontal headed stud.

20. Shop bill program places text for you. Use customer's shop bill. Have multiple configurations.

21. Automatically extend weights (optional).

22. Library icon menu for easy storage and insertion of user defined blocks. Library menu will hold an unlimited number of blocks.

23. Bolt circle that uses attributes. Bolts can be extracted for automatic bolt list and summaries using the Bolt List program supplied in the Calculator Programs.

24. Add curb angle to top of beam, (web view and end view). Can be angle or bent plate, with or without angle kicker.

25. Draw plan view of ladders, safety gates, shaft openings and stairs for "E" plans.

26. Run multiple imports of SDS/2, X-Steel, CVSpro DXF files into AutoSD to convert fonts to be compatible with editing in AutoSD.

27. Create DXF file compatible for import into SDS/2.

28. Leader Note dialog box for selecting common notes. User can add or remove notes from this box.

29. Save CNC data for holes in beams, girts, columns, braces and stair stringers. Several programs are included to make it easy to edit, check and extract the CNC data for the Peddinghaus Peddimat and Franklin beam line.

30. Get total quantities of all pieces on all drawings in a job folder (Compile Qty's from all drawings). Not available for AutoCAD LT or IntelliCAD.

31. Multiple selection for extracting bill of materials, using text or attributes, into Excel,  EJE and Fabtroll. Not available for AutoCAD LT or IntelliCAD.

32. Create elevation views for erection drawings using the "Elevation Generator", a dialog box entry where you can save your views. Includes support for beams, columns, bracing, girts, stairs and ladders.
